Aviva is a restaurant i El Higuerón (Benalmádena) specialising i oak-wood fire cooking, lending authenticity to every dish. The grill is the star, Malaga-born chef Juanjo Carmona leads this author's asador.
The menu leans on the wood-fired embers of encina (holm oak), the traditional charcoal of southern Spain. Dishes are simple, honest, and amplified by the smoke. Expect charcoal-grilled meats, a small selection of fish cooked over the flames, and a wine list focused on Andalusian and Riojan reds.
Located i the quieter Altos del Higuerón residential pocket, away from the busy coastal strip. The bar is the centrepiece, a long marble counter with a deep liquor shelf and dark, moody lighting. Accessible entrance, parking, and restrooms.
Reservations available via Google Maps Reserve or by phone. €40–90 per person.
